Wunderkammern Milano è lieta di dare inizio al nuovo anno con Hazy state of affairs, la mostra personale del duo italiano Miaz Brothers.

I Miaz Brothers (Milano, 1965 e 1968) vivono e lavorano a Valencia, Spagna. La loro estetica costruisce le sue fondamenta sui meccanismi dell’interpretazione; essa attua un cortocircuito tra realtà ed immaginazione, certezza e dubbio. Con la mostra personale Hazy state of affairs, le loro opere divengono metafora dello stato della società contemporanea in cui la verità degli eventi è offuscata ed alterata.
Simultaneamente astratti e figurativi, i dipinti forzano l’osservatore ad interpretare in maniera soggettiva l’immagine di una verità sfocata.
Gli artisti:
Vincitori del prestigioso 5° Premio Arte Laguna sezione Pittura nel 2011, i Miaz Brothers vantano mostre in importanti gallerie e fiere d’arte internazionali. Ad inizio carriera, in piena fase di sperimentazione, i due fratelli hanno viaggiato in tutto il mondo ed esplorato diverse tecniche artistiche, tra le quali video, pittura e fotografia. Gli artisti sono oggi celebri per il loro approccio innovativo e originale al ritratto: attraverso un uso sapiente degli acrilici producono opere enigmatiche ed evocative, nelle quali la rappresentazione appare completamente sfocata. Stimolando associazioni mnemoniche e personali nella mente dell’osservatore, il loro lavoro aspira ad attivare la nostra percezione visiva e cognitiva.

The Miaz Brothers (Milan, 1965 and 1968) live and work in Valencia, Spain. Their aesthetic builds its basis on the inner workings of interpretation; it carries out a short circuit between reality and imagination, certainty and doubt. With the solo show Hazy state of affairs, their artworks become a metaphor of the contemporary society’s status, in which the truth of the events is dull and altered. Simultaneously abstract and figurative, the paintings force the observer to interpret in a subjective way the image of a blurry truth.
The artists:
Winners of the prestigious 5th Arte Laguna Awards Painting section in 2011, the Miaz Brothers have been presented in important galleries and international art fairs. At the beginning of their career, during their experimental phase, the two brothers travelled all around the world and explored different artistic techniques, including video, painting and photography. The artists are today renowned for their innovative and original approach in portrait painting: through a skilful use of acrylics they produce enigmatic and evocative artworks, in which the representation appears completely blurry and out-of-focus. Stimulating mnemonic and personal associations in the viewer’s mind, their work aims to engage our visual and cognitive perception.
