UNA è lieta di presentare Once more into the grey: mostra collettiva nata dalla collaborazione con la galleria Sabot di Cluj-Napoca, che include lavori di Răzvan Botiș, Radu Comșa, Camilia Filipov, Nona Inescu, Alex Mirutziu, Vlad Nancă.
La mostra, ideata appositamente da Sabot per gli spazi di UNA, presenta una selezione di opere di artisti rumeni esclusivamente in bianco e nero: un’allusione alla nostra contemporaneità, artistica e non, e allo stesso tempo alla celebre “Scuola di pittura di Cluj”. La collettiva è concepita come un dialogo incolore fra diversi lavori e media espressivi come scultura, fotografia, installazioni e ovviamente pittura.
La galleria Sabot è stata fondata nel 2009 a Cluj-Napoca in Romania da Daria D. Pervain, ex critica d’arte e giornalista, e Marcel Janco, critico e curatore nato in Romania e residente in Israele, con l’obiettivo di identificare la raison d’être di una galleria d’ arte contemporanea nel terzo millennio.
SABOT ha co-fondato due centri d’arte contemporanea a Cluj-Napoca: “The Paintbrush Factory” nel 2009, e “Centrul de Interes” all’inizio del 2017, contribuendo enormemente allo sviluppo della scena artistica contemporanea rumena. Fino al 2018, la galleria ha partecipato a più di 30 fiere d’arte internazionali, da Artissima ad ARCOmadrid, LISTE, Paris Internationale e NADA Miami, solo per citarne alcune.

La mostra nasce in occasione della seconda edizione di PREVIEW: format espositivo nato dalla collaborazione tra Mauro Mattei, partner della società di art advisory BeAdvisors Art Department, e Giorgio Bartoli, fondatore dell’agenzia di comunicazione Golab. Preview si pone come uno strumento attraverso il quale gallerie internazionali hanno modo di collaborare e confrontarsi in un contesto espositivo non convenzionale. Per questa edizione, BeAdvisors ha invitato le gallerie UNA (Piacenza) e Ncontemporary (Milano) a selezionare due gallerie internazionali con le quali collaborare: rispettivamente Sabot (Cluj) e Madragoa (Lisbona).

UNA is pleased to announce its collaboration with Sabot gallery from Cluj-Napoca and to present Once More into the Grey, a group exhibition which includes artworks by Răzvan Botiș, Radu Comșa, Camilia Filipov, Nona Inescu, Alex Mirutziu, Vlad Nancă.
The exhibition, specially conceived by Sabot for the space of UNA, features a selection of black and white artworks only by Romanian artists – an allusion to the state of the (art) world today and, at the same time, to the famous Cluj “grey school of painting”. Nonetheless, not only paintings are on display, the exhibition is conceived as a colorless dialogue between several rather mysterious works – sculpture, photography, installation…
SABOT gallery has been founded by Daria D. Pervain and Marcel Janco at the beginning of 2009 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, as an attempt to verify the raison d’être of a gallery in the third millennium. Hidden relationships, longtime friendships, communality, fictional identities and situations blurring the barrier between public and domestic — these are the main, statutory highlights of SABOT. A laboratory, an incubator, a research tentacle, the gallery acts equally as a curator, a producer, and a habitat.
Since its debut, SABOT has co-founded two art centers in Cluj-Napoca – The Paintbrush Factory, in 2009, and Centrul de Interes, at the beginning of 2017 – hugely contributing to the development of the Romanian contemporary art scene. Until 2018, the gallery has participated in more than 30 international art fairs – from Artissima or ARCOmadrid, to LISTE, Paris Internationale and NADA Miami, to name just a few.

The exhibition is on the occasion of PREVIEW is an exhibiting format, born from an idea of Mauro Mattei, partner of the London based art advisory firm BeAdvisors Art Department, and Giorgio Bartoli, founder of the communication agency GoLab.
Preview wants to be the tool in which the invited galleries have the opportunity to collaborate and share their perspectives and visions, in an unconventional space; it was launched in April 2018, on the occasion of Miart. For the second edition of Preview, BeAdvisors AD has invited the Italian galleries UNA (Piacenza) and Ncontemporary (Milan) to select two international galleries to collaborate with. The chosen galleries are Sabot (Cluj) and Madragoa (Lisbon).
