Sabato 20 aprile 2024 alle ore 18:00 presso Arte Borgo Gallery sarà inaugurata la mostra personale di Haya Kim a cura di Anna Isopo con commento a cura della storica e critica d’arte Martina Scavone.
Haya Kim fa il suo debutto nella Capitale con la sua prima mostra personale. Nata nel 1991 in Corea del Sud, Haya Kim si è trasferita a Flint Hills, Kansas, Stati Uniti nel 2010. Nel 2018 ha conseguito il Master of Fine Art presso il Maryland Institute College of Art – LeRoy E. Hoffberger (Baltimora, Maryland). Attualmente vive e lavora a New York.
La memoria e la natura circostante sono le principali fonti d’ispirazione di Haya Kim. Le sue creazioni artistiche si sviluppano attraverso un racconto astratto ed estremamente delicato impreziosito dalla sua riflessione interiore, creando un filo unificante che collega l’insieme della sua opera. Il pennello si muove liberamente sulla superficie, lasciando che i colori si fondano e danzino insieme in un moto fluido ed elegante che deriva chiaramente dalla pittura di paesaggio di matrice orientale propria delle radici culturali dell’artista. A ciò si aggiungono la gestualità istintiva e liberatoria tipica dell’Espressionismo astratto e la celebrazione del sentimento e la sensazione di sublime figli del Romanticismo, i quali si uniscono dando vita a scenari capaci di suscitare nel riguardante uno straordinario impatto visivo ed emozionale.

Haya Kim’s solo exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday 20 April 2024 at 6.00 pm at the Arte Borgo Gallery. Curated by Anna Isopo, the opening will be accompanied by the commentary of the art historian and critic Martina Scavone.
Haya Kim makes her debut in the Capital with her first solo exhibition. Born in 1991 in South Korea, Haya Kim moved to Flint Hills, Kansas, United States in 2010. She received Master of Fine Art from Maryland Institute College of Art – LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting (Baltimore, Maryland) in the class of 2018. She is currently living and working in New York.
Memory and the surrounding nature are Haya Kim’s main sources of inspiration. Her artistic creations develop through an abstract and extremely delicate approach enirched by her internal reflection, creating a unifying thread that connects her entire work. The brush moves freely on the surface, letting the colors blend and dance together in a fluid and elegant motion that clearly derives from the formless traditional Eastern landscape painting typical of the artist’s cultural roots. Added to this are the instinctive and liberating gestures of Abstract Expressionism and the celebration of the emotional elements and the sense of sublime that characterize Romanticism: they all come together to create scenarios capable of arousing an extraordinary visual and emotional impact in the viewer.
